One of my HMI Forge customers reached out with a robot programming question.
He basically wanted to use contact stops or skip conditions and a laser sensor to create a user frame dynamically at runtime.
After a couple of emails back and forth, I spent a little time creating a free CRX plugin called FrameCalc which handles the math.
The plugin gives you a new FrameCalc timeline icon under Programming > Plugin. After dropping it onto the timeline, you configure a frame calculation with either the three- or four-point method. It’s up to you to record the origin, X direction, Y direction and optionally the system origin PRs ahead of time. The output is written to another PR for you to manipulate or quickly write to a user frame e.g. UFRAME[1]=PR[4].
The plugin is free to download. Just provide your email address to subscribe to my newsletter and receive occasional emails about FANUC robot programming.
Installation steps are on the FrameCalc page.
